Research Topics
Research Topic is an innovative academic concept focusing on the hottest areas in academia, here gathered a variety of current research active areas and issues. You can browse the topics you are interested in and offer new topics for others.
Science Publishing Group Research Topic showcases your research area and contributes to the communication of academic information. If you have a new topic, please download the form and send it to us.
Research Topic #1
Systematic botany
Systematic botany is part of systematic biology, which is concerned with the range and diversity of organisms and their relationships, particularly as determined by their evolutionary history, It involves, or is related to, biological classification, scientific taxonomy and phylogenetics.
Research Topic #2
Medicinal plants
Medicinal plants, medicinal herbs, or simply herbs have been identified and used from prehistoric times. Plants make many chemical compounds for biological functions, including defence against insects, fungi and herbivorous mammals. Over 12,000 active compounds are known to science. These chemicals work on the human body in exactly the same way as pharmaceutical drugs, so herbal medicines can be beneficial and have harmful side effects just like conventional drugs. However, since a single plant may contain many substances, the effects of taking a plant as medicine can be complex.
Research Topic #3
Plant anatomy and morphology
Plant anatomy is the study of the structure of plant cells and tissues, whereas plant morphology is the study of their external form. All plants are multicellular eukaryotes, their DNA stored in nuclei, The characteristic features of plant cells that distinguish them from those of animals and fungi include a primary cell wall composed of the polysaccharides cellulose, hemicellulose and pectin, larger vacuoles than in animal cells and the presence of plastids with unique photosynthetic and biosynthetic functions as in the chloroplasts.
Research Topic #4
Plants, climate and environmental change
Plants, climate and environmental change are an interconnected system. Plant responses to climate and other environmental changes can inform our understanding of how these changes affect ecosystem function and productivity. plant phenology can be a useful proxy for temperature in historical climatology, and the biological impact of climate change and global warming.
Special Issues
Special Issue is an effective way for researchers to focus on a hot topic for an in-depth study. If you have a great topic or idea, you can propose a Special Issue and you will have the opportunity to be the Lead Guest Editor of the Special Issue. For more information, please visit:
